How to Change Themes and Layouts on Your MySpace Page

How do you change the theme and layout on your MySpace page? Actually, it is very easy. You can use the themes already provided by MySpace, you can find a layout online, or you can make your own. Your decision on which way is right for you depends on how comfortable you are with computers, the internet and CSS coding.

To change your layout you need to do these steps:

1.     Log into your MySpace account

2.     Click on the Profile dropdown menu.

3.     Go to Customize Profile. This will take you to the page to change the theme of your layout.

4.     In the second rectangular box you will see Select Theme, Change Layout, Advanced Edit and CSS. This is going to be the menus that you will be using to change the MySpace layout. The next steps will depend on whether you want to use a theme provided by MySpace, find a new theme or create your own.

5.     Deciding on your theme.

a.     If you choose to use a MySpace theme, then you will choose the Select Theme option. You will pick a theme that you like and click on it.

b.     You can search the internet to find a theme that you like. When you find the one that you like, there will be a code that you can copy to use it. Click copy. Return to your MySpace and click the CSS option. In the box provided, paste your copied code.

c.     If you are comfortable with HTML and CSS, you can design your own theme. You can code the graphics, fonts and other colors for your page. Once you have the code the way that you want it, you will copy it into the CSS box on your Customize Profile page.

6.     Once the theme is set the way you want it, then you can change the modules and the positioning of the modules. To pick the modules that you want on your page, click on Modules in the first rectangle. Next, you will click on the modules that you want or don’t want. To change the layout of the modules, go to Change Layout in the second column. Pick the choice that best suits you. On the preview of your page at the bottom, you can move the modules around in the layout you have chosen.

7.     Once you have everything set up the way that you want, you can click the publish button. You have successfully changed your theme and layout.
